Scalable and modular

From a single station to a production cell with several robot units that can work alternately in parallel.

 

Thanks to transfluid's innovation and development, a production cell with robot bending machines can not only bend a tube in both directions, but each robot is also able to process a different geometry.

 

Production with robot bending units makes it possible to bend long tubes largely without vibrations. The set-up process can be extremely minimized by combining bending tools.

Robot and machine

The robot takes over handling and bending, even with long tubes or pre-assembled assemblies.

 

"In a recent project, we had to find a solution and decide whether to install a bending machine and automate it via a robot or use the robot as an additional processing machine," says Stefanie Flaeper (Managing Director of transfluid).

 

To do this, the engineers at transfluid simply constructed a bending machine on the robot flange. This robot bending machine is able to bend from right to left in a single clamping operation. And it is extremely flexible, especially when long tubes are to be bent or, for example, tube-hose combinations where the hose has already been assembled before the bending process.

Stable and reliable

As the bending heads can also be provided with several levels in this way, it is possible to process different tube diameters without changing tools.

 

The advantage of such a robot bending system is obvious: long tubes can be bent automatically without major vibrations, and the bending speed is kept relatively constant over the entire length. The robot is responsible for handling the tubes from a magazine and transferring them to a storage area after processing. This means that steel tubes up to a diameter of 22 mm can be bent without mandrels.

Dynamic and versatile

It gets exciting when the workpieces have been processed on both sides beforehand, for example.

 

The robot can then start bending from both sides. In this way, the transfluid concept opens up the impressive possibility of bending both sides into the final shape without additional length.

Programming was yesterday

"Programming robots is a completely legitimate 'hurdle' for many companies. That's why we've made it easy and it's simply not necessary with our systems with bending robots," emphasizes Stefanie Flaeper. With the transfluid systems, the coordinates are loaded from the CAD and the robot knows how to bend. In addition, connections to measuring systems are possible and manual corrections can be made very easily. This is because the robot is operated via a normal bending machine controller. This makes it possible to use the robot even more economically.
